The honest answer: most “free” co-parenting apps aren’t. OurFamilyWizard charges each parent $149–$300 a year, TalkingParents removed its free mobile plan in March 2026, AppClose ended its free model in January 2026, and 2houses and coParenter are paid. GrownUps is free for both parents, for every core feature, with no per-parent fee — and your data export is free forever.

What the paid apps do that we don’t (yet)
OurFamilyWizard’s AI message rewrite and TalkingParents’ recorded, transcribed calls are real, well-liked features GrownUps does not have in the first release. GrownUps ships a free, non-AI cool-down instead, and disclosed recorded voice notes are planned. A comparison that concedes nothing isn’t worth reading.
So — the best free one?
