For high-conflict situations

When talking is hard, structure helps.

When communication with a co-parent is difficult, the thing that helps most is less of it, not more — one civil channel instead of five hostile ones, a schedule that runs itself so there is nothing to argue about, and a calm record kept automatically. GrownUps is built for parallel parenting: each parent runs their own household, contact stays brief and factual, and the app quietly holds the schedule, the messages and the shared costs so the two of you have to coordinate as little as possible.

High-conflict co-parenting has a counter-intuitive fix: reduce the number of decisions that need a conversation. That is what parallel parenting means — each parent runs their own home their own way, and the overlap is kept small and predictable. The app’s job is to shrink that overlap further.

A single channel replaces the scattered texts, emails and handover-gate exchanges that each become their own argument. The schedule is set once and then simply runs, so “whose day is it” stops being a question. A built-in pause shows you your own message before it sends — a moment to send the calmer version — and every message, handover and expense is recorded automatically, so nobody has to keep their own tally.

The record is there so you can stop worrying about remembering; it is not a case, and GrownUps is not built to help you make one. If a lawyer or mediator ever needs a clean copy, you can export everything for free. What the app is really for is lowering the temperature — fewer exchanges, fewer flashpoints, and more of the day spent parenting rather than managing the other parent.

Questions

Good to know.

Is GrownUps free?

Yes — free for both parents, with no per-parent fee and no paywall on your own records. Exporting your data is free forever.

Does it work if my co-parent won’t join?

Yes. Every core feature works for one parent alone; when your co-parent joins, everything lines up automatically.

Does GrownUps track my location?

No. Location on a handover is optional and, if you use it, a single snapshot the moment you tap — never continuous tracking.
